How It All Started: The Journey Behind Art N Dreams

Lakshya Aggarwal grew up with a deep sense of love and responsibility for his younger brother, Pranav. When Pranav was just two weeks old, the family received life-changing news—he had been diagnosed with Down syndrome. This moment marked the beginning of a journey filled with care, dedication, and unwavering support.

Lakshya watched his parents work tirelessly to ensure that Pranav had every opportunity to grow and thrive. Family, friends, and therapists all came together, forming a strong support system. While this community provided essential guidance, Lakshya began to notice that something important was missing as Pranav grew older—financial independence.

For Pranav to truly thrive, he needed more than just support; he needed the opportunity to stand on his own. Lakshya knew that Pranav deserved the dignity of earning a livelihood, and that this was key to his overall well-being and happiness.

Then, when Pranav was six years old, everything changed. An art educator named Rahul Sir introduced Pranav to painting. Traditional learning tools hadn’t been easy for Pranav, but the moment he began experimenting with water and colors, something clicked. He found joy in this new form of expression, using unconventional tools like sponges, leaves, and even knives instead of brushes. Art gave Pranav a voice that words could not.

Lakshya noticed a spark in Pranav’s eyes every time he worked on a painting. He knew that this was more than just a hobby—it was a path forward. Art was the key to unlocking Pranav’s potential, offering him not only creative fulfillment but a way to earn, express himself, and connect with the world.

This realization became the foundation for Lakshya’s dream: to create a world where people like Pranav are not just understood but celebrated for their unique abilities.

The Birth of Art N Dreams

Driven by this vision, Lakshya founded Art N Dreams, an organization dedicated to empowering neurodiverse and specially abled individuals. His goal was clear: build a vibrant, inclusive community where individuals like Pranav could thrive, where their talents would be recognized, their voices heard, and their contributions valued.

Art N Dreams is more than just an initiative to sell art, food, and products created by these talented individuals. It’s also about shifting perspectives and educating the public. Lakshya’s mission is to help society understand how to treat neurodiverse individuals with respect and dignity, fostering an environment where everyone is given the chance to shine.

The organization also focuses on providing vocational training, life skills education, and opportunities for social integration. Lakshya believes that every person, regardless of their abilities, should have the chance to develop independence, pursue their passions, and be recognized for their talents.
